The Deputy Minority Leader of the Nigeria Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, has commended and expressed his utmost joy in the compassionate and workers-friendly governance approach Governor Ademola Adeleke has adopted in his administration of the state.
Senator Oyewumi said the recent approval of promotion for civil servants in Osun state is both remarkable and commendable.
The Senator, in a statement personally signed by him and made available to newsmen by his media office, said the development is a fulfilment of campaign promises of the Governor.
” I am delighted to express my utmost joy upon receiving the news of the approval of Promotion within Civil Service in Osun State by the esteemed Governor, His Excellency; Senator (Dr.) Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. This remarkable achievement underscores the commitment and dedication of our performing and workers-friendly Governor to the welfare and advancement of the civil servants in our beloved state.
” The fulfilment of this promise is a testament to the integrity and efficacy of Governor Adeleke, who, during the electioneering campaign, assured the Civil Servants of Osun State of adequate welfarism and due promotion. As the Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District at the Nigerian Senate, I have long advocated for the fulfillment of just compensation for our hardworking government workers, who tirelessly contributed to the delivery of good governance and democracy.”
” I commend Mr. Governor for his unwavering commitment to his promises, despite the challenges inherited from the previous administration, including the clearance of backlogs of half-salaries to civil servants and the regular payment of bonds to pensioners in the State. This demonstrates his genuine concern for the welfare of all citizens, especially those in the public service sector.
“In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Governor Adeleke for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the well-being of the people of Osun State. This approval of promotion within the Civil Service marks a significant milestone in our journey towards building a more prosperous and inclusive society for all,” the statement concluded.
In a news release from the Spokesperson of the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, he said after a statutory process supervised by the Head of Service, Mr Samuel Ayanleye Aina in conjunction with the Civil Service Commission and Local Government Service Commission, Governor Ademola Adeleke has approved the promotions of due civil servants in the civil service of the state.
Speaking further, Mallam Olawale said Governor Adeleke reaffirms the commitment of his administration to workers’ welfare.
“The Governor particularly noted that the exercise is unarguably in line with the pursuance of No 1 of the 5 – Point Action Plan of his administration, which is giving the welfare of public servants topmost priority.
“I assure all civil servants that the public service reform is on course. We will deliver on a fully professionalized public service.
“I congratulate the beneficiaries. I urge you to show a deeper passion for public service. Our government will ensure the required opportunity for all to operate and display their spirit of service to the state”, the Governor stated.
