●Announce Winners for 2024 Leadership Bootcamp

The Honourable member representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state in the House of Representatives has boosted business owners and entrepreneurs in his Constituency with the sum of thirty million naira, including equipments and business tools.
In a release from his personal social media handles, the Chairman Public Account Committee of the House of Representatives said one hundred young entrepreneurs who were qualified and selected entrepreneurs from his annual business and leadership bootcamp(BS-E4) held from 7th to 9th March 2024 will be a beneficiary of the business grants
Honourable Bamidele Salam also highlighted the criteria that was used to select the 105 young entrepreneurs that will benefit from the grants from the throng of several other entrepreneurs that presented their business pitch at the Bootcamp held earlier this year.
He equally highlighted that, of the 105 selected candidates, 31 have their businesses in the agricultural sector, 23 belong to the ICT, Science, Technology and Engineering sector, 17 are from the fashion and shoe-making industries while 34 belong to the trading and general merchandise category while equally gender sensitive in the selection of candidates as, 70 of the shortlisted candidates are male, while 35 are female.
The statement reads;
“It is my pleasure to formally announce the winners of our 2024 Business Grants component of our annual BS-E4 Business and Leadership Bootcamp.
“A sum of thirty million Naira in cash and equipment support will be shared by one hundred young entrepreneurs in Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo federal constituency of Osun state which I am privileged to represent in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly”
“The business grant contest was the peak of the recently concluded Business and Leadership Bootcamp organized to empower 400 young graduates and aspiring entrepreneurs in my Constituency. The Bootcamp was held from 7th to 9th March, 2024.
“This announcement follows the submission of a report by the panel of judges who screened and assessed a total of 205 submitted business proposals during the Bootcamp earlier in March.
“According to the panel’s report, the following criteria amongst others were used in the selection of the shortlisted candidates:
1. Business Sector
2. Equity Contribution
3. Required Capital Support
4. Business Feasibility
5. Business Sustainability Model
Some insights into the social-demography of the Selected Candidates, the Sponsor are as follows:
1. Of the 105 selected candidates, 31 have their businesses in the agricultural sector, 23 belong to the ICT, Science, Technology and Engineering sector, 17 are from the fashion and shoe-making industries while 34 belong to the trading and general merchandise category.
2. Gender-wise, 70 of the shortlisted candidates are male, while 35 are female”
3. The selection also ensures spread across the 4 Local Government Areas in the Federal Constituency.
