Osun Utd this afternoon played a 1-1 draw with FC ONE Rocket in one of the Match Day 13 of Nigeria National League decided at Eket Stadium, Uyo.
The host full of confidence approached the game as they were hopeful of bouncing back, following a previous defeat to Ijebu Utd with the Omoluabi Giants still basking in their victorious moments with a narrow victory over Inter Lagos FC in Match Day 12, took time to study their opponents.
Each goal in each half ensured the spoils were shared at the Eket Stadium in Akwa Ibom.
Abubakar Aminu registered his first goal for Omoluabi Giants this season, at exactly half hour mark, following a well struck setpiece few yards out as a result of a heavy challenge on our hitman, following it up with his man of the match display in the previous game.
While reacting to the team fair result away from home, the Osun United gaffer Seye Ajayi said, “Trust and hardwork really worked for us this evening. My boys were excellent and very impressive. We played with aggressive and were resolute. We didn’t respect them at all, although we expected them to come out for us, but scoring first really helped us.
“The spirit is high, and our goalkeeper also had a fantastic show. Am impressed with the quality of additions we were able to make in mid-season, the best decision from the club, competition is back in the team. We will train hard and ensure we deliver three points against Ikorodu City next weekend as I give kudos to the lads.” Seye Ajayi joyfully submitted.
The ‘Imole Boys’ having stretched their unbeaten run to four matches, with a point behind joint top leaders (19) would host ambitious Ikorodu City in Match-day 14, at Osogbo Township Stadium in a top of the table clash.
